And by the way, have you still got the original photoshop file? Cos you need to actually save these as a PNG file to get rid of that background.
Once you're done with your design, you go to File > Save for Web & Devices. And then choose PNG from the drop down.
I'll pop this in the journal in the meantime, but let me know if you change it, or if you make any new ones!
